Job Opportunity: OR Tech / Surgical Tech

Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 16 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking an experienced OR Tech / Surgical Tech with a minimum of 4 years of Operating Room experience prior to travel. Candidates must have experience in Neurology, Transplant, General Surgery, Gynecology (GYN), and Orthopedics. This position involves working in a sensitive unit with service lines including Bariatrics, Urology, Neurology, ENT, Oral, Plastics, Transplant, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, GYN, and Orthopedics.


Work Schedule

  • Weekend shifts: Every other weekend
  • Call: Variable (to be discussed during interview)
  • Floating: Within facility/scope of practice and to outpatient areas as needed

Required Experience

  • Minimum 4 years of Operating Room experience
  • Experience in Neurology, Transplant, General Surgery, GYN, and Orthopedics
  • First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience not required)

Required Qualifications

  • Surgical Technologist with a minimum of 4 years of experience
  • Surgical Technologist experience within the last year

Compliance & Screening

  • Full compliance with all credentialing and onboarding requirements is mandatory to start on time
  • Clinical screening will be conducted to determine clinical fit before final approval
  • Maximum Return to Office (RTO) time: 7 days
  • Background check required within 30 days of start
  • Education verification required (degree or diploma)
  • Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start
  • Physical exam required within 12 months of start
  • Immunizations and health documents required, including:
    • TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination
    • Flu vaccination or declination during flu season

Additional Requirements

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required
  • Color blindness testing required
  • Competency exams as applicable (e.g., Dysrhythmia/EKG for certain units)
  • Review and sign code of conduct and dress/professional appearance policies prior to start
  • Skills checklist updated within the last 12 months
  • Work history verification and clinical references required

Notes

  • Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length
  • Locals accepted at the same rate
  • Floating assignments may include outpatient areas within the facility
