Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Registered Nurse

Location: San Francisco, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
  • Specialty: Registered Nurse with focus on Cardiac Cath/Interventional Cardiology
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in Cardiac Cath/Interventional Cardiology
  • Clinical Focus: Experience with Structural Heart and TAVR procedures
  • Responsibilities include Cath/EP and pre/post procedural care
  • Must be able to float to other facilities within the system
  • Work schedule: 6 out of 7 days

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in California
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 5 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, including experience within the last year
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Valid government-issued photo ID matching professional license (Driver’s License, State ID, or US Passport)
  • Background checks including 7-year criminal history, nationwide and county-specific checks, and education verification
  • Primary source verification of RN license within 30 days of start
  • Pass/Fail Telemetry exam on first day of orientation (required for all RNs in specified units including Cath Lab)
  • Medication and unit-specific competency exams with passing scores of 80% or higher, completed within 12 months of start
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start including physician statement of fitness to work
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific approved mask types required)
  • Immunizations and titers:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years (no declinations accepted except medical exemptions)
    • Two negative TB tests (PPD, QuantiFERON, or Tspot) with specific timing requirements
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) titers or 2 vaccines required
    • Hepatitis B titer, series, or declination (declination must be signed within 1 year)
    • Varicella titer or 2 vaccines required (history of disease not accepted)
    • Seasonal flu vaccine or facility-specific declination required during flu season
    • COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption required as per facility policy
  • Drug testing: Standard 9-panel (excluding THC) within 30 days of start, re-run every 2 years
  • Completion of facility-specific learning modules and cybersecurity awareness training prior to or during first week of assignment
  • Two supervisory references required, preferably from most recent employment
  • Current and updated resume with last 7 years of work history; gaps of 30+ days must be explained
  • Unit-specific skills checklist updated annually

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must complete a COVID-19 questionnaire prior to start
  • Religious and medical exemptions for COVID-19 vaccine require detailed documentation and advance approval
  • Parking and uniform information must be reviewed and acknowledged prior to start
  • Candidates may be required to complete respirator medical evaluation questionnaire and fit testing onsite if applicable
  • Pass/Fail Telemetry exam includes content on ECG rhythms, lead placement, and escalation protocols
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) and other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment
