Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Rochester, New York
• 13-week assignment
• Day shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00–19:00
• 36 hours per week
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend
• First-time travelers accepted
• No locals accepted within 75 miles
• No on-call requirement
• Pending license not accepted
• RTO limit: no more than 1 week in the contract
• Block scheduling may be accommodated but is not guaranteed

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York
• Med Surg / Telemetry (1 year of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Phlebotomy skills
• IV insertion skills
• Interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Management of dysrhythmias
• Use of Rapid Response Teams
• Peripheral Line Care/Management
• Nasal Cannula
• Oxygen face masks
• Portable Oxygen tank
• Non-invasive airway management
• Experience with Epic

Preferred

• ACLS
• PALS
• NRP
• TNCC
• EFM

Float Scope

• May float to ED boarders, ICU (stable), medsurg, and acute brain injury (stable patients)

Unit / Patient Care Context

• MS/Tele unit
• Day/evening ratios: 5:1, stretching to 6–7:1
• Night ratios: 6–7:1, stretching to 8–10:1 if staff calls in
• PCTs are available on all units for vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and ADLs
• Common patient diagnoses include cardiac, pulmonary, pain, GI, infection, and unmanaged DM
• Special equipment includes bladder scanners, tele, EKG machines, and lifepacks
