MS/Tele Float

Role

• Travel/Contract RN role in the UC San Diego Float Pool.
• Primarily based at East Campus, with floating to other campuses as needed.
• Works all MS and Tele floors.
• Must work at 4 locations during the contract.

Schedule

• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:00.
• Every other weekend.
• No blocked scheduling.
• No self-scheduling.
• A 4-week schedule is sent 2 weeks in advance.
• The RN is told the facility by phone 2 hours before the shift.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California.
• Float experience within the last year.
• 2 years of float experience.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or National Health Care Provider Solutions or Military Training Network or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or National Health Care Provider Solutions or Military Training Network or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
• RN must be OK with an online interview reviewed by the clinical team.
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam.
• Color Blind Testing Online.
• Competency Exam.
• 2 references covering employment within the past 2 years of start.
• Background check.
• SSN trace.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM.
• HHS/OIG.
• California Medi-Cal Search Result.
• Physical Exam.
• Fit Mask.
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap.
• Negative TB or Chest X-Ray.
• TB Questionnaire.
• Hepatitis B.
• Drug Testing.
• Rubeola (Measles).
• Mumps.
• Rubella.
• Varicella.

RTO Policy

• RTO must be submitted with the application.
• No more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract.
• No RTO during the first 2 weeks of the assignment.

Preferred

• No RTO is offered for nurses.
