Orthopedic Registered Nurse

Overview

• Travel/contract role in Pocatello, Idaho
• Night shift: 4x12 hours
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Unit accepts first-time travelers
• No local candidates within a 100-mile radius
• Patient ratio: 1:5
• Unit size: 10 beds

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Idaho
• Orthopedics (1 year of experience)
• Orthopedics experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross or RQI or American Safety and Health Institute
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross or RQI or American Safety and Health Institute
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process
• Respond to life-threatening situations with appropriate nursing interventions
• Prioritize, delegate, deliver, evaluate, and communicate care with providers and leaders
• Provide specialized care for patients with musculoskeletal issues, including post-operative orthopedic patients, injury recovery, chronic condition management, and patient/family education

• Drivers license or state ID required
• E-Verify required
• Background check required
• Education verification required
• Clear headshot required for badge
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit test within 1 year of start
• Tdap vaccination within 10 years of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
• Drug screen within 90 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
• Work history verification required
• Skills checklist required annually
