Physical Therapist - Outpatient (Travel/Contract)

Location: Oakland, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Monday – Friday, Day shift (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 40 hours

Job Description

• Provide 1:1 outpatient therapy primarily for post-operative orthopedic and neurological patients
• Manage approximately 9 patients per day
• Focus on outpatient clinic setting with orthopedic and neuro patient populations
• Treatments involve AROM/AAROM/PROM, use of assistive devices, body mechanics, pain assessment, discharge planning, evaluation, and plan of care (POC) development
• Previous charge experience preferred
• One request for time off (RTO) will be approved during the contract
• No overtime unless a written exception is provided
• First-time travelers are accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in California
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience treating orthopedic patients
• Experience working in an outpatient clinic setting
• Proficient in active range of motion (AROM), active-assisted range of motion (AAROM), and passive range of motion (PROM) techniques

Preferred Skills

• Experience with orthopedic and outpatient clinic settings
• Knowledge of assistive devices and body mechanics
• Ability to perform pain assessment, discharge planning, evaluation, and plan of care development

Additional Information

• No prior travel experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• One approved request for time off during the contract
• All required documents and certifications must be current and unencumbered at start date
• Competencies must be completed by 11:59 PM PST on the first day of the contract; failure to complete within 14 days results in immediate termination of assignment
• Physical exam annual updates required only for skilled nursing and sub-acute facilities (not applicable here)
