Outpatient Surgery Registered Nurse - Augusta, Georgia (Travel/Contract)

• Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 9 hours per day (8:30 AM - 6:00 PM)
• Contract Length: 12 weeks
• Patient Population: Pediatrics through Geriatrics
• Patient Ratio: 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio; 5 rooms with an average daily census of 10-18
• Unit Systems: Epic, Pyxis
• Floating: May float to all divisions of Outpatient Surgery
• Call: No formal call; however, nurses may be required to stay late based on room completion ("dots" and "double dots" system)
• Weekends: None
• Holidays: Required to work major holidays if they fall during assignment (up to 2 out of 3 major holidays)
• Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days

Clinical Responsibilities & Skills

• Provide nursing care in outpatient surgery areas including specialties such as retina surgery, total hip/knee replacements, hand surgery, breast oncology and reconstruction, ENT, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, hernia repairs, and podiatry.
• Must be willing and able to start IVs.
• Familiarity with conscious sedation, general anesthesia, and local anesthesia required.
• Work varied shifts including 6:00-3:30, 6:30-4:00, 8:00-5:30, and 8:30-6:00 (day shift primarily).
• Scrub color provided by facility.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia.
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience within the last year.
• Experience in Outpatient Surgery.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• ACLS certification.
• PALS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
