Job Opportunity: MRI Tech

Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
  • Shift: Monday to Thursday, 11:30 AM to 10:00 PM (4x10 hour shifts)
  • Daily caseload varies across Inpatient, ER, and Outpatient settings
  • Floating within scope to other buildings on campus may be required
  • On-call: Not required

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of MRI Technologist experience within the last year
  • Certification/Licensure: ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT required
  • BLS certification required
  • Siemens MRI experience required

Facility & Work Environment

  • Facility Type: Teaching hospital with Magnet status and Level 1 Trauma designation
  • Total staffed beds: 865
  • Charting system: Epic
  • Parking: Paid parking for nights and weekends with a one-time $20 parking pass fee
  • Scrub color: Teal top, black bottom
  • Hurricane season (June-November) may require assignment to emergency response teams

Additional Requirements & Notes

  • Radius rule: 60 miles; local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Guaranteed hours: Facility may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks
  • Orientation modules and first day instructions must be completed prior to start; estimated 2 hours to complete
  • Passport-style badge photo required before start (frontal view, solid light background, business casual attire)
  • Medication/pharmacology competency exam required as applicable
  • Competency exam required prior to start
  • State license primary source verification required; SC license processing times vary (walk-through/temp license option available for eligible candidates)
  • NURSYS verification required for applicable licenses
  • Physical assessment form required for sterile processing techs (not applicable for MRI Tech)
  • Respiratory safety clearance and fit testing mandatory; PAPR not provided by facility
  • Drug screen and immunization documentation must be current and uploaded as required
