Registered Nurse (Med/Surg Telemetry) - Travel/Contract
Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Shift: Nights (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Description
- Provide nursing care on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit.
- Experience with pacemakers, IV insulin protocols, and Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI) required.
- Must be able to float within scope to meet facility needs, including sister facilities if needed.
- Charting system: Epic.
- No block scheduling accommodations.
- Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted.
- Return to Office (RTO) restrictions: no more than 5 days allowed.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2 years Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience.
- Travel Experience: Prior travel experience not accepted; first-time travelers are not accepted.
- Licenses & Certifications:
- Current, valid Registered Nurse license for Oklahoma.
- BLS (Basic Life Support).
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support).
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- EKG Course/Telemetry test.
- Must have a current physical exam stating good health and no physical limitations.
- Must pass required competency exams including medication, dysrhythmia/EKG, core parts I-III, and conscious sedation (if applicable).
- Must complete required facility-specific orientation and training, including Epic if no recent experience.
- Must complete annual mandatory trainings and attestations (e.g., HIPAA, OSHA).
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated monthly.
- Education verification with transcript/diploma required.
- OFAC sanctions list search required and updated monthly.
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen including marijuana (required within 30 days prior to start, updated annually).
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months.
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (Tdap mandatory for certain units).
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella vaccinations or positive titers.
- Hepatitis B vaccination or declination.
- Varicella vaccination, titer, or history.
- Seasonal flu vaccine required or approved exemption.
- COVID vaccination strongly preferred; declinations accepted with agency form.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start.
- Fit testing (N95 mask) required onsite prior to or on first day.
- Facility-specific documents and acknowledgments (e.g., Code of Ethical Business Conduct, Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy, Information Access Agreement) must be completed prior to start.
- Oklahoma Offender Registration Act compliance and fingerprinting clearance required.
Documentation and Verification
- Current and valid driver’s license or state-issued ID.
- Utility bill in candidate’s name with matching address dated within last 3 months; address must be more than 75 miles from contracted facility.
- Employment history verification covering 10 years, including international positions and explanations for gaps over 30 days.
- Two references required from former direct supervisors (one within 1 year, one within 3 years).
- Updated resume covering last 7 years of employment.
- Skills checklist and competency exams must be current and aligned.
Additional Notes
- Candidates must be able to meet all facility-specific requirements and complete all mandatory trainings and documentation prior to start.
- Floating to other units or sister facilities may be required based on staffing needs.
- No local candidates accepted due to distance requirement.
- No pending state licenses accepted.
- RTO (Return to Office) days limited to 5 or fewer.
