Job Opportunity: Oncology Clinic Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Santa Rosa, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 8 weeks


Job Description

  • Position: Oncology Clinic RN
  • Primary duties include administering 6 infusions and performing 1-2 port draws daily.
  • Must be familiar with Alaris Infusion Pumps and CADD Ambulatory Pumps.
  • Oncology certification required (ONCC or ONS).
  • Experience with EPIC electronic health records preferred.
  • Shift options (day shifts, approximately 8 hours):
    • 7:45 AM – 4:15 PM
    • 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
    • 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
    • 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
    • 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Weekends and call are not required.
  • Locals are accepted.
  • Guaranteed 40 hours per week.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
  • Minimum of 1 year of oncology nursing experience within the last year
  • Oncology certification (ONCC or ONS)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience in an outpatient setting
  • Infusion experience

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
  • Social Security Card (as applicable).
  • Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; must be updated annually.
  • Education verification for nursing degree; international education requires additional documentation.
  • NURSYS license verification for RNs.
  • Minimum of 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years.
  • Employment application covering at least the last 5 years of employment with explanations for any gaps or overlaps.
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating fitness to work.
  • Immunizations and health requirements:
    • TDAP vaccine within 10 years or signed declination.
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with acceptable alternatives or declination.
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination.
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer with acceptable alternatives or declination.
    • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season or signed declination.
    • COVID-19 vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to infection prevention policies.
  • Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start.
  • Respirator medical clearance (RespSafety) required annually for travel assignments.
  • Annual completion of regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via assigned learning management system.

Additional Requirements & Notes

  • Must complete medication and pharmacology competency exams as applicable.
  • Skills checklist must be updated annually for applicable units.
  • Radiation badge issued by facility if applicable.
  • Photo for badge required (passport style with neutral background).
  • No weekends or on-call required.
  • Floating to other nearby facilities may be required as per float policy.
