Unit Description

• Specialty: Surgical Stepdown Unit / PCU
• Unit Size: 26 beds
• Patient Population: Adult, acute care patients requiring specialized care beyond general medical-surgical units.
• Care Requirements: Continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring, airway management, acute BIPAP support, arterial lines, central lines, and titrated medicated IV infusions.

Shift Information

• Schedule: Days with 3 weeks of nights
• Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week

Requirements

• Licensure: NY license in hand
• Local Candidates: Not accepted (must be 75 miles away)

Certifications Required

• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA only)
• BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA only)
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (AHA only)
• State License Verification
• Color Blind Testing (within 1 year of contract start date)

Health Documents

• Current Health Form/Physical Exam (within 1 year)
• Fit Mask (updated annually)
• Negative TB or Chest X-Ray (within 12 months)
• Vaccination records for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, and Varicella
• Drug Testing (within 30 days of start date)
• Flu Seasonal Vaccination/Documentation (required year-round)
• Snellen Eye Exam (within 1 year of contract start date)

Background and History Checks

• Criminal Background Check (no older than 3 months)
• Employment References (minimum of 2)
• Current Resume/CV
• Education Verification (if applicable)
