Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

Location: Frederick, Maryland
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Monday - Friday, Day shift (approx. 6:30/7:00am - 3/3:30pm) with one weekend day per month
Hours per Week: 30 hours

Job Overview

• Work within a large multidisciplinary team (~40 clinicians) in a fast-paced hospital environment.
• Treat a variety of diagnoses including orthopedics, neurological, behavioral health, and critical care caseloads.
• Focus on treatment activities such as morning Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), one-on-one treatment, and facilitating group therapy sessions.
• Deliver quality occupational therapy services according to individualized treatment plans.
• Provide patient and family education, and collaborate with hospital staff including physicians and nursing teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using a web-based EMR system.
• Meet clinical, departmental, and regulatory expectations, including productivity standards (65%-75% daily productivity, 21-24 billable units per day).
• Participate in a positive, team-oriented work environment that values collaboration, communication, and ownership.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license in Maryland
• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
