Interventional Radiology (IR) Tech Opportunity
Location: Bismarck, North Dakota
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- CVT, RCIS, or ARRT (ARRT must be registered with NDMIRT)
- Radiation Badge (must be supplied and in hand prior to start)
- NDMIRT registration required for ARRT
Department Details
- Department: Interventional Radiology (IR)
- Number of labs: 2
- Average cases per day: 5-10
- Patient types: Inpatient, outpatient, emergent cases
- Common procedures: Stroke Thrombectomy, Embolizations, Lines, Tubes, Visceral, Para, Thoracic, fluoroscopy
- No CT or Ultrasound duties for techs
Job Duties
- Planning and scrubbing during procedures
- Scrubbing experience is required
Equipment & EMR
- EPIC electronic medical record system
- Philips Xper (Hemodynamics)
- Siemens C-Arm imaging
Staffing & Support
- Intensivist MD in-house 24/7
- IR physician always available, on call after hours
- Team Lead present and working in the lab each shift
- Supervisor and lead responsible for time card sign-off
Schedule & Call Requirements
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Team scheduling posted 17 days in advance
- Call: 1-2 days per week from 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM if on call
- Weekend call: Every third weekend
- Holiday call: Every other holiday
- Call response time: 30 minutes
Orientation & Additional Info
- One week of unit/department-specific orientation (classroom and lab)
- Radiology pre/post floating requirements
- Scrub color/dress code provided
- Lead apron provided
- Bring your own lock for locker and hospital-designated shoes
Other Requirements
- Radius rule: Must live within 50 miles
- Candidates may not be currently employed full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity
- Return to Office (RTO) needed within 7 days of contract start; no additional RTO approvals after submission
