Home Health LPN/LVN

Overview

Location: Redding, California
Setting: Home Health
Shift: Days, 8-hour shifts, Monday-Friday
Schedule: 8-5 with an hour for lunch
Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

Valid LPN / LVN license in California
Home Health experience (2 years)
Home Health experience within the last year
BLS issued by American Heart Association
Driver's License
Experience with wound vacs
Experience with ostomies
Experience with wound care in general
Experience with Homecare Homebase

Role Details

Direct patient care field staff only
No utilization review required
No case management or patient scheduling required
No weekends
No holidays
No on-call or standby requirement
No floating required
No hospice care required
Travelers would not be expected to bathe patients
Will not be doing SOCs or recerts; routine visits only
LVNs see up to 7 patients per day
Common patient types include wound care, wound vacs, new ostomies, post-surgical wounds, cardiac patients, CHF, pneumonia, and IV antibiotics with PICC line care
No pediatric patients
RT equipment mentioned: oxygen and nebulizers; no vents

Orientation

Home health-only orientation
Preceptor assigned
Up to one week of orientation

Additional Notes

Scrubs are not required; neat, appropriate regular clothing is acceptable
A cell phone and Samsung tablet are issued

Great hospital. Kind and friendly staff.

Cons

The cafeteria is a hit and miss. Some days they have great sea food with saffron rice! Some days microwaved food :D. But there is alwaaaaays, pizza available ;)
