Travel RN Opportunity – NeuroSpine Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) – NeuroSpine Medical Surgical / Telemetry
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 7 PM – 7 AM
• Schedule Requirements:

  • Holidays and every other weekend required
  • Block scheduling approved
  • Call requirements are voluntary
• Floating: Required to float to other units

Unit & Patient Care

• Unit Type: Higher Med-Surg acuity
• Patient Diagnoses:

  • Stroke
  • Seizures
  • Post-op Neuro/spinal surgeries
  • Level 2 trauma patients
  • Level 1 trauma post-ICU care
  • DKA, renal failure, general post-op care
• Number of Beds: 24
• Patient Ratio: 1:5 or 1:6

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Expertise in:

  • Neuro assessments
  • Critical thinking
  • Drain management and post-surgical care
  • Chest tube management
  • Groin site management post-interventional radiology (IR)

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

• EMR System: Cerner
• Department Scrub Color: Navy
• Travel Distance Requirement: Must be greater than 50 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)
