Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health (Dementia)

Weekly Hours: 36 (including 24 weekend hours)

• Unit: Behavioral Health, Geriatric Floor
• Number of Beds: 24
• Patient Ratio: 1:7
• Patient Population: Geriatric (50+)
• Specialty: Dementia with Behavioral Disturbances
• Common Diagnosis/Treatment: Dementia with Behavioral Disturbance
• Electronic Health Record (EHR) System: Medhost

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
• Minimum 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Healthcare Worker Certification (HWC) or Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training
• Experience working with dementia patients is mandatory
• Must be checked against the Tennessee Abuse Registry prior to assignment start

Work Environment & Expectations

• Orientation occurs bi-weekly on Mondays
• No float or call requirements
• Dress code: solid color scrubs; facial piercings are not allowed
• Personality fit: calm demeanor and ability to get along well with others

Additional Notes

• Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff
• The facility includes emergency, inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing, long-term care, and geriatric behavioral health services (specific to this role: geriatric behavioral health)
