- Unit: Maternal Infant Unit
- Number of Beds: 24
- Number of Staff: 71
- Staff Types (Day Shift): Labor nurse, nursery nurse, OB tech, secretary, leadership, educator
- Staff Types (Night Shift): Labor nurse, nursery nurse, OB tech, secretary
- Patient Ratios:
- Labor: 1:1 (most of the time)
- Post-partum: 5-6:1
- Nursery: 5-6:1
- Equipment: GE fetal monitors
- EMR System: Meditech, CPN
Job Responsibilities
- Provide care for vaginal deliveries, C-sections, antepartum patients
- Newborn and post-partum care
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Virginia
- Labor and Delivery experience (minimum 2 years), including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification
Work Schedule
- Approximately 36 hours per week
- Every third weekend required
- 12 hours of on-call per 4-week schedule
Dress Code
- Navy blue scrubs
- Pink badges for infant security
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years labor experience in an LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) unit with high birth volumes
No prior travel experience requirement specified.
