Registered Nurse - Emergency Department
Location: Utica, New York
Shift: 12-hour Evening (10:30 AM - 11:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 36
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work in a 64-bed Emergency Department unit including triage, acute, super track, trauma, CDU, and psychiatric beds.
- Patient population includes newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics.
- Common diagnoses: Stroke, Sepsis, Trauma, Myocardial Infarction, Cardiac Arrest, Respiratory Failure.
- Specialty equipment used: Rapid Infusor, Arctic Sun.
- Required medication/drip administration experience: Pressors (Levophed, Neo, Epi, Vasopressin, Dobutamine, Dopamine), Vasodilators (Cleviprex, Cardene, NTG), Anti-arrhythmics (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Lidocaine), Sedation agents (Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl), TNK, Heparin, Insulin.
- Floating to other units is required.
- Charge nurse capability is highly preferred.
- Block scheduling is not guaranteed.
Required Qualifications
- Active New York RN license.
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience, including some pediatric experience.
- Prior travel nursing experience is required.
- Current certifications: AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical records.
- Valid driver’s license with address matching demographics.
- Must live more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel status.
- Submission must include an up-to-date resume, skills checklist matching specialty, NURSYS license verification report, and Return to Office (RTO) documentation.
