Registered Nurse (Labor & Delivery) - Travel

Location: Morristown, New Jersey
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: PM (7 PM - 7 AM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours (12-hour shifts)
Employment Type: Travel Nursing

Job Overview

• Provide competent nursing care to Labor & Delivery patients, demonstrating knowledge of normal growth and development from pediatric to geriatric populations.
• Perform thorough, systematic, and accurate patient assessments.
• Deliver direct patient care and support the patient care team.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of nursing processes, patient progress, and education.
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals, including use of two patient identifiers and safe transfer/body mechanics techniques.
• Individualize patient care based on surgical procedures and anesthesia types, assessing patient understanding and reactions.
• Conduct pre-operative and postoperative assessments and patient/family education.
• Support timely completion and evaluation of Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders.
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality (HIPAA compliance), and promote patient and family-centered care.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New Jersey
• Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Physical Requirements

• Must meet occupational safety standards and be able to perform duties requiring physical activity as defined by safety guidelines.

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
