Surgical Tech - Travel

Location: Jacksonville, Florida
Employment Type: Contingent Labor
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

Attends the surgeon and surgical team peri-operatively to provide an optimum peri-operative experience. Requires knowledge of anatomy, instrumentation, patient safety, and sterile technique.

Required Qualifications

Surgical Technologist with at least 1 year of experience
Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency

Additional Experience & Competencies

Knowledge of principles of aseptic technique, surgical procedure orientation, and operation/care of equipment and machines.
Understands patient and staff safety recommendations.
Capable of rapid, accurate reactions with concern for quality patient care.
Effective communication and teamwork with various personnel levels.
Physical demands include standing and walking for the majority of the work schedule, moderate to heavy lifting.
Exposure to cuts, burns, infection, biohazardous chemicals, and x-ray.
