Position Details

• Employment Type: Contract Clinician
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Unit: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry

Job Responsibilities

• Care for 5 to 6 in-patient medical or surgical patients
• Perform procedures related to med-surg and telemetry care
• Use equipment such as Pyxis medication station, Meditech charting system, Alariz IV pumps, and remote telemetry monitoring

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year acute care experience
• Competent in EKG interpretation
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS required
• Active and in good standing Arizona nursing license

Work Schedule

• Must be willing to work every other weekend or one weekend shift per week (Saturday and Sunday)
• Typically work on a unit with up to one other nurse and a nursing assistant (LNA/UC)

Floating and Unit Information

• Float among all Med Surg/Tele units on 2nd and 3rd floors
• Occasional required float to Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Unit bed sizes:

  • 2nd floor: 2E (20 beds), 2S (14 beds), 2C (23 beds), 2N (17 beds)
  • 3rd floor: CDU (20 beds), 3N (20 beds), 3S (23 beds)
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 5-6 patients per nurse

Orientation and Training

• 2 to 3 shifts of floor orientation
• 8 hours of hospital orientation on a Monday

Dress Code

• Navy blue scrubs

Additional Considerations

• Must be willing and able to float among Med Surg/Tele units and to PCU as required
• Candidates should confirm any required time off during the assignment in advance
