Physical Therapist - Rehabilitation Therapy

Location: Hebron, Nebraska
Employment Type: Contract (13 weeks)
Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours/week, Days

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time Physical Therapist to provide rehabilitation treatment programs primarily for outpatient orthopedic patients, with additional inpatient and swing bed therapy responsibilities. The role involves planning, interpreting, and implementing rehab treatments in compliance with regulatory requirements and state laws.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy (required)
• Experience in Physical Therapy preferred
• Must hold a current and valid driver's license
• Must have motor coordination, strength, and physical abilities to perform all job duties
• Must be a Registered Physical Therapist with an active Nebraska PT License or Physical Therapy-PT Compact License

Responsibilities

• Plan and evaluate patient treatment programs in coordination with medical staff
• Administer treatment programs developed by therapists and physicians
• Clarify physician treatment instructions and confer on patient care issues
• Evaluate patient needs and discuss treatment plans with patients, families, and medical staff
• Maintain patient records, charts, and discharge summaries
• Educate patients and families on care and use of support and exercise programs
• Assist other therapists and participate in training medical and nursing personnel
• Maintain quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control programs
• Direct assistants and qualified staff in administering treatment
• Maintain department cleanliness and equipment functionality
• Attend required meetings and participate in committees
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
• Keep Nebraska physical therapy license active and current

Working Conditions

• Work primarily indoors in a smoke-free, climate-controlled environment with occasional outdoor duties
• Frequent standing and walking for prolonged periods
• Requires full range of body motion, manual dexterity, and eye-hand coordination
• Potential exposure to infectious materials
• Handling and lifting patients, bending, lifting, and stooping required
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Work may include patient home environments with various external factors

Additional Information

• BLS/BCLS certification required
• Housing is limited; motel/hotel research recommended
• On-call rooms are limited and available upon request
