22-bed observation unit
Patient ratio: 1:5 or 1:6
Fast-paced unit with high turnover
Heavy telemetry unit monitored by central monitoring
Common patient type: medical observation
Heparin is the only listed titratable or set-rate drip
No vents on the unit
RN performs own EKGs and draws own labs
Charge nurse occasionally takes patients
CNA support available if able for the floor

Schedule and Work Expectations

Every other weekend required
Holidays rotate with permanent staff
No call requirement
Floating required to med surg
Unit orientation: 3 shifts

Required Qualifications

BLS certification
NIHSS certification
1 year of experience required
1 prior travel assignment required

Strict 75-mile radius rule
Driver’s license address must be provided in the submittal email
ACLS is not required, but is highly recommended
