Registered Respiratory Therapist

Location: Salem, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) and Every Other Weekend (EOW)
Hours: 36 hours per week
Unit: Respiratory

Job Description

• Provide respiratory therapy services in an acute care setting.
• Must have ventilator experience.
• Ability to draw arterial blood gases.
• Work primarily on night shift with some potential rotation to day/evening shifts (day shift may rotate to 11 AM – 11 PM when needed).
• Use of PB980 and Hamilton T1 transport ventilators.
• Charting system: EPIC.
• Clinician to patient ratio: Night shift staffed with 4 respiratory therapists.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in Massachusetts
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including at least 1 year within the last year
• 1 to 2 years of total travel Respiratory Therapist experience
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in respiratory therapy
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Experience working in an acute care setting

Compliance and Background Checks

• Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start date, updated if break >6 months.
• Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start date, updated if break >6 months.
• National sex offender registry check within 30 days prior to start date, updated annually.
• Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days prior to start date, updated annually.
• Social Security Number trace as part of background check.
• Education verification through background check company.

Submission Requirements

• Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state.
• Two professional references within 4 years, including at least one supervisor or higher.
• Skills checklist completed within 1 year of submission.
• Candidate submission coversheet (current version).

Additional Information

• No onsite fit testing; must be completed prior to start date using designated form.
• Positive TB skin test requires negative chest x-ray documentation.
• Name change documentation required if credentials do not match legal name.

This position requires prior travel experience as a respiratory therapist.
