- Weekend shifts: Every other weekend
- Call: None
- Floating: Within facility/scope of practice as needed
- Minimum Experience Required: 1 year (Unit accepts first-time travelers)
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
- Holiday Work:
- If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, expected to work it
- If 2 major holidays fall, expected to work both
- If 3 major holidays fall, expected to work two of them
- Major Holidays Include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day
- Orientation: Bi-weekly schedule; full compliance required to start on time, otherwise start delayed by 2 weeks
- Clinical Screening: Candidates reviewed for clinical fit; final decision by manager
- Locals Accepted: At same rate
- Non-Billable Orientation Hours: Determined by contract length (e.g., 12 weeks = 12 hours)
Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-time travelers accepted)
Certifications & Licenses
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for relevant specialties (e.g., Cardiac Tele/Step-down, CVICU)
- BLS (Basic Life Support): Required except for Microbiology Techs and Med Techs
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required for RNs in certain specialties (e.g., ER, PACU)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required if applicable
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Online course required within a few months of hire (no re-certification needed)
- Tech Certification Verification: National allied license verification within 30 days prior to start
- State License: Must be valid and verified within 30 days prior to start (Georgia license required for CRTs & RRTs)
- NURSYS Verification: Annual verification for RN, LPN/LVN, AP within 30 days prior to start
- NIH Stroke Certification: May be required depending on specialty
- Other: Refer to clinical tracks for specialty-specific certification requirements
Competencies
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required for RNs and LVNs by agency
- Color Blind Testing: Required for all candidates; alternative assessment available if needed
- Competency Exam: Required for Nursing and Allied by agency
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required for Telemetry, ICU, ER, Cardiac step-down, etc.; up to 3 attempts allowed
Health & Compliance Requirements
- Background Check: Comprehensive background check required within 30 days of start
- Physical Exam: Required by agency within 1 year of start
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; cannot start with results pending
- TB Testing: PPD, QGold, or TSpot within 12 months; if positive, additional documentation and chest x-ray required
- TB Questionnaire: Required annually for all candidates
- Vaccinations:
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer required
- Hepatitis B: Series, surface antibody titer, or signed declination required
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required
- Flu Vaccine: Required or declination during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)
- Additional Health Documents: May be required depending on specialty and privileging status
Additional Requirements
- References: 2 clinical references required by agency
- Skills Checklist: Updated within 12 months
- Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof of processing
Notes
- Full compliance with all documentation and certifications is mandatory to start on time.
- Clinical screening and final approval by management are required before assignment confirmation.
- Candidates must review and sign facility-specific policies such as Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance.
