Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics - Travel/Contract
Location: Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide quality patient care in Adult Critical Care, PICU, and NICU settings.
- Perform blood gas lab procedures and diagnostic testing according to policy and clinical guidelines.
- Obtain, analyze, and record blood gas results proficiently.
- Conduct quality control and preventative maintenance on blood gas equipment.
- Manage mechanical and non-invasive ventilation.
- Act as a consultant to nursing, ancillary, and medical staff regarding respiratory care.
- Provide recommendations to improve patient outcomes.
- Educate and consult with patients, families, staff, and physicians.
- Perform or assist with advanced procedures such as intubations, bronchoscopy, and tracheostomy.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in Adult Critical Care, PICU, and NICU settings performing the above duties.
- Licensure: Current Florida Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- ALS (Advanced Life Support)
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required.
Compliance & Documentation
- Background check within 6 months, including all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years.
- Florida AHCA Level II fingerprinting clearance required prior to start.
- Physical exam within 6 months confirming fitness for duty.
- Negative QuantiFERON TB test within 6 months (TSPOT and PPD not accepted).
- Annual fit mask test with approved masks (3M 1860 Regular or Small).
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months.
- Immunizations and titers required or declinations accepted for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31).
- COVID-19 vaccination preferred (for tracking purposes).
- Two professional references from the last 2 years required.
- Annual skills checklist.
