MRI Tech - Travel/Contract
Location: Saratoga Springs, New York
Contract Length: 6 weeks
Job Details
- Work setting: Outpatient clinic near Saratoga Hospital
- Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM (4 days/week, 10 hours/day, 40 hours/week)
- Responsibilities include performing MRI and CT scans
- Must be able to administer IV contrast for CT scans (requires injection license)
- Experience with Siemens MRI units, preferably Espree model, is preferred
- Use of Epic electronic health record system
Required Qualifications
- Valid MRI Technologist license in New York
- MRI Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
- ARRT-MR certification
- IV Contrast certification (required to deliver IV contrast in NY)
- CT Technologist experience

- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology

Location Restrictions
- Candidates with primary residence within 50 miles in the following counties are not eligible for new contracts:
Warren, Washington, Fulton, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Albany, Columbia, Greene, Dutchess, Ulster
Certifications & Competencies
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) from AHA or American Red Cross
- BLS (Basic Life Support), preferably from AHA or American Red Cross
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred
- Advanced EKG/ECG test with a minimum passing score of 90% (100% on lethal rhythms) required within 72 hours of contract signing
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Color Blindness test preferred
- NIH Stroke Certification may be assigned during orientation if not on file
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start date; must complete onsite physical including "TSH Medical History" form
- Negative TB test (2-step PPD or Quantiferon Gold) within 1 year; chest X-ray if prior positive PPD
- Fit test for N95 mask (3M 1870 quantitative test accepted)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start (specific panels required)
- Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required by December 5, 2024; mask required if exempt
- Eye exam including Ishihara color deficiency test prior to start
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Passport-style photo for badge (plain background, neutral/friendly expression)
- FCRA Authorization Release form signed prior to start
- Lift assessment (typically 25 lbs, may be 10 lbs depending on position)
- Review ECG study guide prior to start
- Complete virtual general orientation and clinical testing modules by 7 a.m. Wednesday before start date
- Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training (New York State requirement for RNs and LPNs)
- Religious exemption request form required if applicable
Background Checks & Documentation
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Standard background check including 7-year search, SS trace, county searches, nationwide, and sex offender registry
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks annually
- New York Statewide Central Register LDSS-3370 form for Behavioral Health travelers (time sensitive)
References
- 2 professional references required for travel, allied, and per diem acute care roles
- 1 professional reference required for per diem non-acute care roles
