Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech

Location: Burlington, Vermont
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 32 weeks


Job Details

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Call: Approximately 2-3 times per month
  • Holiday Requirement: Must work 2 out of the 4 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year's Day)
  • Shift Notes: No block schedules; Monday to Sunday availability required for IVS offers

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in Vermont
  • Minimum of 1 year of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience within the last year
  • Experience with Epic electronic medical record system

Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA approved
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA approved
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA approved (verify if required by unit)
  • National Tech Certification verification within 30 days of assignment start

Background & Compliance Requirements

  • Background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
  • Education verification based on highest degree relevant to the role
  • Vermont Adult and Child Abuse Registry consent and search
  • Vermont Crime Information Center (VCIC) criminal background check (for Vermont placements)
  • COVID vaccination or declination required
  • Flu vaccination or exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)
  • Other immunizations: Tdap, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B (or declination), Pneumonia vaccine if assigned to NY facility
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within past 12 months, updated annually
  • N95 Fit Mask test required prior to assignment and updated annually

Orientation & Training

  • Bi-weekly orientations on Mondays
  • Completion of EPIC and Cornerstone modules prior to start (approx. 8 hours, non-billable)
  • Competency exams and medication/pharmacology testing as required

Additional Information

  • Reliable personal or rental vehicle strongly recommended (public transportation not accessible)
  • Vehicles should have all-season or snow tires from November through April
  • Complete and detailed work history required, including bed count, EMR, and facility type
  • Must explain any employment gaps over 90 days
  • Photo for badge required (passport style, plain background, no logos or hats)
  • Various facility-specific policies and forms must be reviewed and completed prior to start

References & Verification

  • Two professional references from assignments within the last 3 years
  • Skills checklist within 12 months
  • Verification of 2 years of most recent clinical work history
  • Employment application required
