Overview
- Travel/contract role in Albuquerque, New Mexico
- 18-week assignment
- Day shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
- 36 hours per week
- Adult psychiatric nursing with float coverage between adult psych and geriatric units
- Patient ratio: 1:8
Required Qualifications
- 1 year of experience
- Active New Mexico RN license or pending license accepted
- BLS certification
- MOAB certification; if not already held, facility provides MOAB training onsite
- Valid non-local driver’s license
- Social Security card
- Two professional references within 3 years of hire
- Complete application with at least 3 years of work history
- Skills checklist
- Work history verification for 3 years of previous work experience
Schedule and Assignment Details
- Weekend shifts required depending on unit needs
- On-call not required
- Block scheduling not available
- Greater than 7 days of requested time off requires approval
- First-time travelers accepted
- No locals within 100 miles
Clinical Setting
- Adult and geriatric behavioral health population
- Common diagnoses include depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, ASD, TBI, and neurocognitive disorders
Compliance and Onboarding
- Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation
- Background check required within 30 days of start
- Education verification required
- Physical exam required within 1 year prior to start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray required within 1 year of start
- Drug screen required within 30 days of start
- Flu vaccination or approved documentation required year-round
- COVID vaccination is optional
- Cerner training attestation may be completed if the clinician has Cerner experience
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement required
- Traveler compliance form, welcome PowerPoint acknowledgement, background registration, and emergency contact form required
Additional Notes
- Facility provides MOAB training at no cost if the certification is not already in hand
- Failure to complete MOAB training can result in termination
- Cerner is used for charting
- Black scrubs required
