Registered Nurse – MS/Telemetry Nights (Travel/Contract)

Location: Roswell, New Mexico
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (4 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 18:00–6:30)
Hours per Week: 48 hours


Job Description

  • Provide nursing care on Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units during night shifts.
  • Work schedule includes every other weekend required.
  • Option to work either 36 or 48 hours per week (this posting specifies 48 hours).

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in the specialty.
  • First-time travel nurses are eligible to apply (no prior travel experience required).
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in New Mexico.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Valid Driver’s License or State ID.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Complete 7-year background check within 1 year of start date, including education verification and fingerprinting (fingerprinting done onsite during orientation; required for every new contract).
  • E-Verify compliance required for direct hires; attestation required for subcontractors.
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start date.
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start date; must be renewed annually.
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start date.
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years) – no declinations accepted except approved medical exemptions.
    • Negative TB test (2-step PPD, QGOLD, or TSPOT) within 1 year; if positive, additional documentation required.
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella – positive titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal.
    • Hepatitis B – positive titer, full series, or declination accepted.
    • Varicella – positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history of chickenpox required; boosters if titers negative or equivocal.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31); declinations not accepted.

Additional Requirements

  • Unit-specific skills checklist completed annually.
  • Work history verification covering the last 7 years.
  • Photo headshot for badge.
  • Orientation safety manual acknowledgment and HIPAA compliance documentation.
  • Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable, with minimum passing scores.
  • Some certifications may be required as applicable (e.g., PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, CPI, NIH Stroke Certification, Management of Assaultive Behavior).

Notes

  • Fingerprinting clearance is required before working on the unit; orientation and training may proceed pending clearance.
  • Documentation must be current and verifiable; vaccine records cannot state “per history” or similar non-specific wording.
  • This is a travel/contract position with a 13-week assignment length.
  • Prior travel experience is not required.
