Clinical Manager – Nursing

Location: Salinas, California
Employment Type: Travel Clinical Nursing
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week

Job Summary

Lead and manage the nursing department’s operations on a 24-hour basis, ensuring effective, efficient, and high-quality patient care. Responsible for planning, organizing, evaluating, and controlling departmental performance while fostering teamwork and professional development. Accountable for budget management, policy compliance, and maintaining positive relationships within the hospital and the community.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to ensure departmental performance meets hospital goals and standards.
• Promote a positive work environment to support staff morale, motivation, and productivity.
• Manage departmental budget and position control, addressing variances as needed.
• Monitor and revise procedures to optimize resource utilization.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
• Anticipate and address issues affecting service delivery in collaboration with administration and peers.
• Foster multidisciplinary teamwork and collaborative decision-making.
• Develop and maintain community relations to support hospital responsiveness and image.
• Support staff education and professional development initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.

Licensure & Certifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification.

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of management experience within the last year.
• Experience in supervisory roles.
• Experience in perioperative nursing.
• Experience in endoscopy nursing.
• Experience with position control and budget management.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system preferred.
