Respiratory Care Practitioner

Overview

Provide routine and critical respiratory care under supervision, with responsibilities across neonatal through geriatric populations.

Required Qualifications

Associate's degree in respiratory therapy
Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in Illinois
Respiratory Care Practitioner (1 year of experience)
Respiratory Care Practitioner experience within the last year
BLS issued by American Heart Association
NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine and critical respiratory care procedures
Evaluate patient respiratory care results and complete assessments on ventilator and other respiratory care patients
Prepare, test, clean, process, maintain, and stock respiratory care equipment and supplies
Obtain and analyze arterial, venous, and capillary blood gases
Document respiratory care, patient response, compliance, and EMR charting/charging
Communicate adverse effects and relevant information to the physician and respiratory care practitioner
Support respiratory care services on inpatient units and in the emergency room
