Perform initial patient assessments upon admission and develop, implement, and modify individualized plans of care.
Educate patients on wound care, mobility, self-care, medication management, and care transitions.
Coordinate patient care with physicians and surgeons.
Delegate and monitor interventions performed by healthcare team staff.
Set up and manipulate orthopedic traction and surgical traction devices.
Manage wound appliances including wound vacs, drains, pouches, and other urological devices.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care.
Ensure patient and employee safety by identifying and addressing hazards.
Participate in professional development and departmental competency requirements.
If applicable, complete annual education related to Hip and Knee Replacement Program requirements.
