Registered Nurse - Medical-Surgical Stepdown

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each

Unit Description

• 29-bed medical stepdown unit specializing in care for patients with acute MI, cardiac arrhythmias, cardiomyopathy, CHF, and other low-risk cardiac/chest pain diagnoses.
• Provides general medical services including cardiology, renal, endocrinology, general medicine, pulmonology, gastroenterology, and oncology patients requiring cardiac monitoring.
• Staff receive specialized training in non-invasive positive pressure ventilation (Bi-PAP, C-PAP, A-PAP).
• Provides infusion therapy, transfusions, injections, and central line care.
• Patient care assistants support with ADLs, point-of-care glucose testing, and 12 Lead EKGs.
• Dedicated stroke unit; all RNs are NIH Stroke Scale certified.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Stepdown/Telemetry nursing, with experience within the last year
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Qualifications

• Leadership experience such as Preceptor preferred.
