Job Summary

• Prepare and turn around procedure rooms.
• Perform hemodynamic recordings, calculations, and interpretations.
• Provide emotional support and education to patients and families.
• Assist with inventory control.
• Collaborate closely with team members and physicians.
• Assess and document patient condition; notify physician of any deviations.
• Operate and maintain imaging equipment with knowledge of x-ray safety.
• Assist procedurally as circulating, scrub, or monitoring tech per cath lab policies.
• May mix/administer medications under physician supervision.
• Perform point of care testing and quality assurance.
• Apply closure devices, suture, or remove sheaths and achieve hemostasis post-procedure.
• Document procedures thoroughly.
• Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot cardiac catheterization lab equipment.
• Maintain knowledge of cardiopulmonary pathophysiology, pharmacology, anatomy, and treatment options.
• Understand invasive diagnostic and interventional supplies and techniques.
• Orient, teach, mentor, and supervise new staff; provide staff education and training.
• Respond promptly to patient status changes during procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Utah
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, including experience within the last year
• Experience as an Electrophysiology Technician
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Certification by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
• Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography (R)
• ARRT certification in Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV)
• ARRT certification in Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI)
• Bachelor’s degree in a health science program from an accredited institution
