Job Summary
- Prepare and turn around procedure rooms.
- Perform hemodynamic recordings, calculations, and interpretations.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and families.
- Assist with inventory control.
- Collaborate closely with team members and physicians.
- Assess and document patient condition; notify physician of any deviations.
- Operate and maintain imaging equipment with knowledge of x-ray safety.
- Assist procedurally as circulating, scrub, or monitoring tech per cath lab policies.
- May mix/administer medications under physician supervision.
- Perform point of care testing and quality assurance.
- Apply closure devices, suture, or remove sheaths and achieve hemostasis post-procedure.
- Document procedures thoroughly.
- Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot cardiac catheterization lab equipment.
- Maintain knowledge of cardiopulmonary pathophysiology, pharmacology, anatomy, and treatment options.
- Understand invasive diagnostic and interventional supplies and techniques.
- Orient, teach, mentor, and supervise new staff; provide staff education and training.
- Respond promptly to patient status changes during procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Utah
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, including experience within the last year
- Experience as an Electrophysiology Technician
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Certification by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography (R)
- ARRT certification in Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV)
- ARRT certification in Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI)
- Bachelor’s degree in a health science program from an accredited institution
