Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical / Telemetry

• Shift Requirement: 12-hour Nights (6:30 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Additional Information

• Unit: Cardiac Renal Unit Stepdown
• Patient Population: High acuity - Tele/MS/Stepdown Cardiac heavy (e.g., Afib with RVR, CHF, COPD, sepsis)
• Unit Size: 32 beds
• Patient Ratio: Days 1:4-5; Nights 1:5-7

Requirements

• Valid RN license in Indiana
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum of 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year
• Ability to initiate and titrate Heparin drips
• Ability to initiate and titrate Lasix drips
• Antidysrhythmic medication dosing, including Cardizem, Tikosyn (dofetilide), and Amiodarone (amio)
• Peripheral IV (PIV) insertion
• Chest tube and indwelling drain management
• Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI) management

Work Environment

• Float Requirement: First to float within skillset to Deaconess Newburgh (8 miles apart) & potential to float to Deaconess Henderson (KY – 11 miles).
• Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Three weekends out of every six weeks; every other holiday.
• Unit Strengths: Excellent retention and experience on unit; strong team environment.
• Scrub Colors: Navy blue scrubs (no competing health systems or agency logos).

Additional Notes

• Covid-19 Vaccine: Not required (subject to change).
• Teaching Hospital: May require precepting of students and new hires.
• Attendance Policy: 3 call-ins can result in termination.
