Job Overview

Travel RN position in Winchester, Virginia
Specialty: Pre-Op/Post-Op (PACU)
1 opening
36 guaranteed hours per week
Shift: 9:00a–9:00p

Schedule

Weekend requirement: 1 weekend per month, Sat/Sun, 2x12s from 7:00a–7:00p
On-call requirement: 2nd call, 1 weekend per month from 7:00p–7:00a
Holiday preference: Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Virginia
PACU - Post Anesthesia Care (2 years of experience)
PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience within the last year
ACLS
BLS
PALS issued by American Heart Association
NIHSS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Preoperative experience
Experience with Epic

Unit Details

Unit: Post Anesthesia Care
16 beds
Patient ratio: 2:1
Float to sister units as needed and to an on-campus surgery center as case volume shifts

Preferred Experience

Titrate drips
TAVR
Experience with patients ranging from cardiac to procedural cases

Patient Population

Geriatrics, starting at 6 months

Dress Code

Navy scrubs

Pros

Everyone has been very helpful and kind. The hospital is clean and pretty easy to navigate to rooms and floors. It's in a good location.

Cons

Not a whole lot of short term homes for rent but some nice hotels and rooms for rent. Not a lot of things to do during off time but DC and Shenandoah Park are a short drive. So are a lot of caverns.
