Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit (IPR)
Unit size: 18 beds
Patient ratio: 5-6 patients per nurse
Staffing: RNs and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
Documentation system: Meditech
Floating: As needed, typically to medical-surgical units in rotation with unit staff

Valid RN license in Texas
BLS certification
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Minimum 1 year of rehabilitation nursing experience, with rehabilitation experience within the last year

Experience with neurological, cardiac, and/or orthopedic adult patient populations
Experience in inpatient (acute) rehabilitation or long-term acute care nursing
Familiarity with medical-surgical nursing procedures including:
- Indwelling and straight urinary catheterization
- Peripheral IV insertions
- Blood administration
- Central line dressing changes
- Wound dressing changes
- Surgical drain removal
- Suture/staple removal

Royal Blue scrubs (tops and pants) in good condition; no logos or fading
Scrub caps must be free of logos
Nails must be clean and healthy; no artificial or gel nails
Hair neat and clean; no extreme styles or colors
Facial hair must be clean and neatly trimmed
Tattoos should be covered whenever possible; uncovered tattoos addressed individually
Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited (e.g., nose rings, tongue rings)
Must wear facility-issued PPE compliantly, including N95 masks and face shields
