- Contract length: 5 weeks
Unit and Patient Information
- Unit: 3 West Post-Surgical
- Number of beds: 34
- Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 5 patients
- Patient population: Post-operative patients from general surgery including bariatric surgery, plus overflow medical patients
- Equipment used: Pyxis medication system
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Epic
Shift Details
- Shift: Nights
- Hours: 7:30 PM to 7:00 AM
- Schedule: Rotating days, 3 shifts per week, every 3rd weekend, rotating holidays
- Weekend shifts have the same hours as weekdays
- No on-call requirements
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana
- Minimum 1 year of Med Surg nursing experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience with Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
Skills and Experience
- Strong teamwork and flexibility
- Experience with drains
- Epic EMR experience
- Strong time management skills
- Preferred: Post-Surgical and Med/Surg experience
Additional Requirements
- Float to similar Med/Surg units based on rotation and needs
Work Environment and Culture
- Personality fit: Easy to get along with, flexible, strong patient advocate
- Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
- Parking: Park in yellow spaces; report to main entrance/Door 12, 3rd floor Post-Surgical Unit
Orientation and Training
- Education modules will be assigned upon hire and must be completed before starting on the floor
