Assignment Length

  • 13 weeks

Unit

  • 3W Stepdown
  • 28-bed private unit

Required Qualifications

  • RN license
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NIHSS
  • Unexpired driver’s license
  • Must be able to read and interpret strips

Assignment Details

  • Tele monitors: Yes
  • Ratios: 1:4-5, or 1:6 with MedSurg acuity
  • Floating: Could float to ICU as helping hands
  • Orientation: 2 shifts with a preceptor
  • Shift: Days, 12 hours
  • Schedule: Every other weekend; must work Christmas or New Years

Clinical Notes

  • Heavy cardiac patient mix, including dysrhythmias and CVAs
  • Includes patients downgraded from the ICU
  • Must be able to titrate Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Heparin drips
  • Vents: Bipap, Cpap, High Flow
