Respiratory Therapist

Location: Santa Maria, California Contract Length: 13 weeks (travel contract) Unit: Respiratory Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts (6 to 6:30; 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.), 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• 2 years of experience or more
• Active BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS, and RRT/CRT certifications
• Proficiency with bronchoscopy ("bronchs")
• Not working in the NICU unless the RT has experience in that area

Preferred Qualifications

• Travel experience

Responsibilities

• EKGs, ABGs, breathing treatments, vent management, high-flow NC, chest vests, and Vapotherm
• Ventilators: Puritan Bennett 840

Patient Population

• Adults, pediatrics, and neonates

Schedule and Coverage

• Charge RT available 24/7
• RT coverage 24/7
• Pharmacy coverage 24/7
• Hospitalist or intensivist in house
• Weekends: every other weekend
• Holidays: worked within the core staff rotation
• Call: not required
• Floor-specific orientation: up to 3 shifts
• First to float (every other weekend)
