Registered Nurse (ER) - Indiana, Fort Wayne

Job Overview

• Travel assignment for an Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)
• Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Evenings (3pm - 3am)
• Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
• No floating to other units/departments
• Orientation: Mandatory 7 days (Week 1: Mon-Fri, Week 2: Mon-Tue), 8-hour days

Unit Details

• Emergency Department with 43 beds
• Average patient volume: 165 patients per day
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4
• Patient population includes a significant number of mentally ill patients
• Collaborative team approach with physicians and behavioral health staff
• Newly added enclosed behavioral health unit staffed by nurses and techs trained in mental health care
• Dress code: Caribbean Blue scrubs

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience
• Current Indiana RN license
• Certifications:

  • BLS (AHA only)
  • ACLS (AHA only)
  • PALS (AHA only)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• Experience with EPIC charting (required)

Job Responsibilities

• Provide emergency care nursing
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including police and behavioral health professionals
• Care for a wide range of medical complaints and trauma cases

• Non-billable orientation hours: 8 hours (orientation attendance mandatory)
• Call-off policy: Cancellation allowed up to 24 hours before shift during the 13-week assignment
