Required Qualifications

• At least 2 years of high-risk L&D experience
• Must be able to circulate C-section in the OR
• Must be able to titrate drips
• Must be able to read own fetal monitor strips

• Unit: L&D / PP / MB
• L&D beds: 22
• OR suites for C-sections: 2
• Triage beds: 7
• Postpartum beds: 34
• Typical volume: 8–12 births per day; 250 per month; 2900 per year
• Patient types: labor, c/s, pre-eclampsia, IDM, and a variety of antepartum complications

Schedule and Assignment Details

• Self-scheduling process
• Travelers are expected to fill in where needed within reason
• Weekend requirement: Yes
• Holiday requirement: Yes
• Call requirement: 18 hours of call per 6 weeks
• Orientation: 1 shift
• Clinicians must be in state for the week of orientation, even if first-day modules are remote

Float Scope

• Float to postpartum
• If there is an extreme need, may float within Zone 1: PEN, SFH, SFI, SMC, STM

Additional Clinical Notes

• Charge nurse does not take an assignment
• Surgical techs are on the unit
• Neonatologist is not in house 24/7
• APPs are in house 24/7
• Anesthesia is in house 24/7
• RT equipment is not on L&D
• Hospital-provided scrubs
