Med-surg float unit
61 combined beds
Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:5 on days, 1:6 on nights
Floating required
Call or standby required with LCD
Every other weekend
Every other holiday
Any scrub color

Clinical Setting

Common patient types include surgical and medical patients such as total joints, fractures, bariatric, urology, CHF, CVA, SOB, and diabetic issues
Respiratory equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow
Telemetry is present; monitor tech reads strips and the RN confirms
No charge nurse or house supervisor on the unit
Nurse aides are present at a ratio of 1:15
