Nights, 12-hour shifts

Unit Overview

Medical-surgical unit with orthopedic and neurological patients, including elective joint surgeries, fractures, back and neck neuro-surgeries, and general med-surg care.

Required Qualifications

• Active BLS
• West Virginia or compact RN license
• Experience with orthopedic patients
• Experience with PCA pumps
• Epic experience
• Unexpired copy of driver’s license must be included with submission

Schedule Expectations

• Every other weekend
• Holidays as needed based on unit coverage
• Travelers are first to float
• Floating required to other med-surg units
• May be floated to telemetry and assigned within skill set

Unit Details

• 33 private beds
• Typical ratio: 1:6
• Charge nurse available 24/7
• Patient care tech support available
• Respiratory support available for CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow

Orientation

• 1 day of Epic orientation
• 1 day on the unit with a preceptor
• Independent on the third day

Dress Code

Royal blue scrubs; scrub jacket only if it is an actual scrub jacket and royal blue

Additional Notes

• 12-hour nights, weekends as scheduled
• Time-off requests should be noted during prescreen
