Job Opportunity: Sterile Tech Supervisor - Surgical Services
Location: Aurora, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details

- Role: Sterile Tech Supervisor (Sterile Processing)
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
- Weekend Requirement: No

Experience & Certification Requirements
- Minimum 3 years experience in sterile processing department
- At least 1 year as a supervisor at a Level 1 Trauma Center (hard requirement)
- National Certification required: CRCST or CBSPD
- BLS (AHA) certification required
Job Responsibilities
- Precept and verify competency and skills development of staff
- Function as a resource and knowledge expert
- Document work performed using instrument tracking software or paper documentation
Time Off Policy
- Maximum 10 Return to Office (RTO) days approved
- RTO not allowed during these blackout periods:
- December 21, 2025 – January 3, 2026
- March 14 – March 21, 2026
- May 8 – May 11, 2026
- May 21 – May 27, 2026
- Flexibility may be considered for harder-to-fill positions
Required Documentation & Compliance
- I9 or Attestation
- Driver’s License/State ID (clear copies front/back)
- E-Verify or Attestation
- Proof of Name Change (if applicable)
- Background Checks (7-year, including SSN Trace, State and Federal checks, Education Verification)
- Employment Application and Work History Verification (last 3 years, gaps explained)
- References: 2 from last 2 years, including one from last year (Charge RN, Manager, Supervisor or above)
- Colorado CAPS Check Results (within 60 days of start)
Certifications & Competencies
- BLS (AHA) - required
- CRCST or CBSPD - required for Sterile Processing Techs
- Annual competency exams (Medication Test, Core Parts I-III, OSHA, Dysrhythmia/EKG if applicable)
- Physical Exam (within 1 year, signed by MD, DO, NP, or PA)
- Fit Mask Test (annual, specific mask types required)
- Immunizations and Health Requirements:
- TDAP (within 10 years or signed declination)
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (annual)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination/declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination (required during flu season)
- COVID-19 Vaccination or signed declination (Dose 1, Fully Vaccinated, Booster)
- Drug Testing (within 30 days of start and annually)
- Color Blind Exam (Ishihara exam required prior to start)
Additional Notes
- Candidates with employment gaps of 15+ days are considered new and must meet full requirements
- Candidates must confirm renewal plans for any certifications expiring within 90 days of start
- Onsite fit testing and PAPR testing available if needed
