Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Tech (Travel/Contract)
Location: Lexington, Kentucky
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Position Overview
- Must have a Radiologic Technologist License in Kentucky through ARRT before start (pending license acceptable at submission).
- Level 1 experience preferred.
- Shifts: Four 10-hour shifts per week (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM).
- Call requirements:
- 1 late call per week (5:30 PM - 7:30 PM)
- 1 call shift per week (5:30 PM - 7:00 AM)
- 1-2 call weekends per 6-week schedule (Friday 5:30 PM - Monday 7:00 AM)
- Preferred experience with Philips Single and Bi-Plane Angiography.
- Required experience with Epic EHR and McKesson systems.
- Local travelers within 75 miles are not accepted.
Required Certifications
- Radiologic Technologist License (KY, ARRT)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale Certification)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - Not required at submission but must be obtained before start date. ENPC accepted in lieu of PALS.
- Additional certifications may be required depending on unit specifics (e.g., NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, CPI).
Required Exams and Competencies
- EKG onboarding exam (must pass with 80% or higher; pass/fail with limited attempts).
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam.
- Unit-specific Competency Exams (multiple may be required).
- Color Blind Testing (online).
- Core Competency Exams (Parts I, II, III).
- Conscious Sedation Competency Exam (if applicable).
- RN Math Ability Competency Exam (basic or advanced).
- Pass/Fail Testing for EKG/Medication (strict pass/fail policy).
Background and Health Requirements
- Background checks including county, national, sex offender, FACIS III, education verification, and criminal history within the last 7 years.
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, updated annually (specific drug panels required).
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually, confirming good health and no physical limitations.

- TDAP (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (with annual renewal)
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or boosters
- Hepatitis B immunity or declination (annual renewal)
- Varicella immunity or booster
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved exemption (annual)
- COVID vaccination series or approved exemption (annual)
- Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually (specific mask types accepted).
