Job Details

• Specialty: Pediatric Registered Nurse with NICU experience
• Unit: Pediatric Medical/Surgical with preferred experience in PCU, Prematurity, Apnea of Prematurity (AOP), Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP), Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia/Chronic Lung Disease (BLD/CLD), Cardiac defects, Feeding issues, Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS), iatrogenic NAS
• Trach care experience required
• Shift: Rotating, 3 shifts of 12 hours each (07:00 - 19:30), every other week
• Holidays: Required as scheduled
• Weekends: Every other weekend required
• Floating: Required within specialty, including to a sister campus
• On-call: Not required

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Maryland
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience, including NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) experience
• Pediatric nursing experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Certifications (as applicable)

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Other certifications may be required based on unit specifics (e.g., Chemotherapy, Trauma Nursing Core Course, Electronic Fetal Monitoring, STABLE)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID
• Background check including 7-year criminal history, education verification, and various federal/state screenings
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start (instant tests not accepted)
• Fit test for approved masks within 1 year of start
• Immunizations or proof of immunity/vaccination for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (required for pediatric units)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
• TB screening: Negative QGOLD or TSPOT within 1 year, or 2-step PPD as applicable, updated annually
• Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
• COVID vaccine not required for this location but documentation may be collected for tracking
• Two supervisory references within 1 year of start
• Employment application/resume completed within 30 days of start
• Verification of previous 5 years of employment history
• Maryland State Exclusions List check within 30 days of start

• Confidentiality agreement and dress code review required prior to start
• Facility-specific questionnaires (e.g., Latex Allergy Questionnaire) must be completed
• Portfolio Epic Training Test Out form may be applicable for Epic users
• Floating includes coverage at a sister campus in Baltimore

This position offers an opportunity to work in a specialized pediatric NICU setting with a focus on complex neonatal care and requires flexibility with rotating shifts, weekends, and floating within the specialty.
