Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Telemetry)

Job Description

• Provide nursing care on Medical/Surgical and Telemetry units; must be willing to float as assigned.
• Shift options: Night shifts, either 3 or 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:45 to 7:15).
• Patient ratios up to 6:1.
• Facility offers flexibility with alternating 36/48 hour shifts or straight 48-hour shifts.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Texas.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical/Surgical and Telemetry nursing.
• Medical/Surgical and Telemetry nursing experience within the last year.
• Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.

Health and Compliance Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID required.
• Background check: 7-year history check within 30 days of start; must be updated annually.
• E-Verify or attestation required.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start; must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; chest X-ray required within 2 years for positive responders; annual TB questionnaire required.
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity (positive titer or vaccination) for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (series, positive titer, or declination)
  • Varicella
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
• Seasonal flu vaccine or declination required during flu season (Oct-April); mask required if declined.
• COVID initial vaccination series or facility-specific declination required; annual boosters not required.
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; must include specified substances.
• Fit test for approved N-95 masks within 1 year; annual update required. PAPR masks not accepted.

Documentation and Training

• Education verification and transcript required.
• State license verification and NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start.
• Facility-specific documents including standards of conduct, dress code policy, standards of behavior, and employment notices must be completed and updated if there is a gap of more than 30 days.
• Orientation and safety training modules, HIPAA and fair warning quizzes must be completed within 72 hours of signing.
• Annual TB questionnaire and other annual training updates required.
• References: Two references within 3 years of start.
• Resume or employment application required.
• Skills checklist updated annually.
• Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing required.

Additional Notes

• Must have a plan to complete drug testing within facility-required timeframe.
• Facility will not accept PAPR masks; failure to pass fit test without trimming may result in inability to work.
• Candidate must be prepared for time-sensitive requirements, especially those needing completion within 72 hours of contract signing.
