Registered Nurse - Pediatric OR (Travel/Contract)

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota
Assignment Length: 12 weeks
Shift: Day (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM) or Evening (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM), 5 shifts per week, 8 hours per shift
Weekends: As needed per unit

Job Description

• Provide family-centered nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents in a surgical setting.
• Utilize the nursing process to coordinate and deliver care.
• Accountable for independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions in collaboration with the healthcare team.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Minnesota.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Minimum 2 years of Pediatrics Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year.
• Perioperative nursing experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Certifications (as applicable)

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• CEUs as required by state regulations

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Criminal background check within 1 year prior to start, including:

  • SSN trace
  • 7-year county and nationwide criminal searches
  • National sex offender registry check
  • FACIS level 3 check
• Education verification with degree, field of study, and completion date clearly listed.
• Minnesota DHS NetStudy Fingerprint clearance required prior to start (candidates must complete the DHS Net Study Questionnaire immediately after signing contract).
• Employment application required.

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year prior to start, documenting ability to work without restrictions (Concentra form or equivalent accepted).
• Fit testing for 3M 1870+ N95 mask within 12 months prior to start (other masks or onsite fit testing may be approved case-by-case).
• Immunizations or documented immunity required for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (immunity or vaccination series or signed declination)
  • Varicella
• Negative TB test (2-step PPD, Q Gold, or TSpot) within 1 year of start; if past positive, must have clear chest X-ray within 1 year and annual TB questionnaire.
• Seasonal influenza vaccination or signed declination form (masking required if declined).
• Drug screening within 1 year prior to start (9-panel minimum).

Additional Notes

• Orientation start dates are flexible, with preferred start as soon as possible around late July or early August.
• No prior travel experience is explicitly required.
